Hey Everybody,
I am looking for the ten ot twenty coolest GorkaMorka sites out there. Ones that have great ideas on rules, scratchbuilding and scenics ideas and other neat stuff. Submit your favorites in the comments section below and I will sort through them and post the best of them in the sidebar.
There is a ton of stuff out there and I can't do this on my own (not enuf time), don't be shy about submitting your site if you think that it is up to a very Darwinian peer-review!
Ten or twenty? That's seriously optimistic.
ReplyDeleteThere's basically two active sites, one static, a sub-forum on The Waaagh, and a fairly silent Yahoo Group.
That's all.
Oh and one of the active sites is this one!
The reason I know that is because I've googled "Gorkamorka" and sifted through to the end of the search results. Since then I've had an alert setup so whenever Google picks up any new Gorkamorka-related stuff I get an email. It's how I found this site in the first place.
People don't make sites like they used to back in the day. Instead of having a little geocities site or a painfully customised MySpace page it seems that itch is now scratched by Facebook and its countless fanpages.
Dude! don't go harxhing my buzz! is it really that bad?
DeleteLet us instead make it a quest to find the hidden gems.
Geez I wish I could type harxhing=harshing I do see what you mean though, having spent some time fishing about it looks like the ice is pretty thin.
DeleteI have been linking the AARs to the TMP 40K forum and they seem to being reciebed well. So the interest may be out there, just a lack of energy to pull together something organized. I will try to do my part.
The lack of other sites is pretty much why we established tUGS. There's very little in the way of good stuff out there and GoMo is such a fun game. It's not as tactical as Necromunda, sure, but it's a great laugh and a campaign gives countless hours of hilarity.

Yeah, there aren't a lot of dedicated GoMo sites out there. Most of the stuff I found as inspiration for this came from tUGS, The WAAAAAGH and sifting through various google image searches. I posted this site on the other blog, but here it is anyway:

Some really good looking terrain.
Iron hands is really beautiful, and you can buy his stuff cheap (for hand-made, custom painted stuff it is a steal).

'Snot mine, but it's got some models and an interesting combo of Gorkamorka & Necromunda. The 'career paths' is worth the download of the rules by themselves.
